Business Server 2011 Standard |
|
Lab 2: Installing Windows Small Business Server 2011
Standard |
|
Objectives: This
hands-on lab provides a step-by-step walkthrough of preparing
for a deployment of Windows Small Business Server 2011 Standard
by completing the Installation Worksheet and running the Answer
File tool. An answer file serves the following purposes when you
are installing Windows SBS 2011 Standard:
- Starts the migration process during
the installation of Windows SBS 2008.
- Provides information that is
automatically entered into the Windows SBS 2008 installation
pages.
- Helps value-add professionals build
servers before taking them to the customer site for final
configuration.
Scenario: Contoso, a
small business of approximately 35 users/devices, is planning
and executing their deployment of Windows® Small Business Server
(SBS) 2011 Standard. Like many organizations this size, Contoso
works with a local value-added provider (VAP) to choose and
deploy their server solution. Contoso has decided to make the
switch from a peer-to-peer environment with no centralized file
server to Windows Small Business Server 2011 Standard. Roland
Winkler, the IT administrator, is ready to begin the planning
and preparation tasks for the deployment
